Experience

Didier SPADE, who is the instigator and creative force behind the project to build the new Paquebot France, began shipbuilding in 1990 ; with the company Compagnie des Bateaux à Roue which he founded.

His first ship was the Louisiana Belle, propulsed by her paddle steamboat engine, then he built the Tom Sawyer, the Tennessee, the River Palace, the Mississippi and most recently, the Clipper Paris.

Each ship was designed furnished and managed by Didier Spade. All of these ships were manufactured with the same team of cabinetmakers, interior decorators, painters, metal workers, electricians, mechanics, etc. up until the Clipper Paris who was built in Saint Nazaire, whereas the previous ships were built in the Paris area.
In March 2008, he sold the Compagnie des Bateaux à Roue and began building the harbor on the Seine, Paris Yacht Marina dedicated to prestige yachting.

At the beginning of 2009 Didier Spade began to work on his new project « le nouveau paquebot France » after attemping to acquire the prow of the legendary cruiseliner France (which later became the Norway) which now resides, happily on the Seine at the Paris Yacht Marina harbor.
