Financing of the SS FRANCE is based on two main pillars:
- A rapidly expanding cruise market, in particular for recent luxury ships.
- Good profitability based on realistic operating parameters comparable in all aspects with cruise ships with an equivalent capacity and positioning.
We have not put the Business Plan online because it must remain confidential until the financing process has begun, and this will only be the case once the ship’s conceptual aspect is complete: we assume that we need to present to the financial community a truly complete “product”, and not something partly unfinished.
The SS FRANCE has many assets in order to penetrate the cruise market:
- Its innovative design and the functionality of many of its areas make it an innovative ship.
- It has an optimised capacity for its size providing its passengers maximum comfort.
- Those who are working on its creation are leading specialists from each sector: Saint-Nazaire Shipyard on the construction, Alain Ducasse to organise on board cuisine, leading designers for decoration such as Wilmotte, Garcia, Jouin, Lehanneur, Putman, Zuretti,etc.
- The ship will bear the name SS France, following on from a prestigious predecessor, whose turbulent lifetime aroused great emotion.
- It will be the “Made in France” ambassador, currently a very topical issue.
- It is ecological in many respects. This is now a must for many cruise passengers.
The ship’s financing will include several stages:
1. Project stage (before construction begins):
This stage which concerns drawing up the ship’s plans, defining its areas, carrying out a market study, drafting the business plan, the project’s increasing reputation ... began in February 2009. It has been self-financed since the outset by the project’s main players, supported by a community of enthusiasts by subscribing “SS FRANCE bonds” within a restricted framework, as opposed to a public offering.
This subscription is presented to anyone who is interested in the project and contacts us. We send them a subscription application on request.
Since it is not a public offering, we are not allowed to advertise this subscription.
2. Global financing stage:
Once the project has been conceptualised, we will present it to the financial community, firstly to those who spontaneously showed their interest in taking part in this financing, then if necessary, we will disseminate the information more extensively.
The aim is to find one or several investors and collect the funds enabling the ship’s construction to begin (and be completed).
3. The “availability of shares” stage
The project’s underlying principle is to enable the French who wish to do so to reappropriate “their” liner, and by extension this opportunity will be made available to anyone whatever their nationality, provided they want to take part in this great emblematic adventure:
At a strategic moment, for example, the day the ship is launched, or on the day of its naming, part of the shares of the ship owning company (which will soon be set up) will be made available at a very accessible price. Many people have already registered– without any prior commitment– on the website (see below) stating how many shares they wish to acquire at a price of € 100. These people will be contacted first when the shares are made available (just after the bond holders who will benefit from preferential conditions of access to these shares due to their more marked commitment).

For those who do not want to wait until the new SS France's future ship-owning company's shares are marketed and who want to get involved in this adventure now, Seine Alliance, the project's developer, has begun to issue bonds.
These bonds value 1.000 € each.
They can be subscribed to in batches of 5.
Minimum for individuals: 5 bonds, ie. € 5 000.
Minimum for entities: 10 bonds, ie. € 10 000.
Yield: 4 % per annum
Repayment on 31 December 2014.

Help finance the SS France :
The principle used to finance the SS France is based on shareholding by institutional investors and other shareholders - both individuals and entities - who purchase shares within the framework of the marketing of part of the ship-owning company's capital.
Shares should be available at the maximum price of € 100.
Shares will only be marketed once all the financing has been covered and after the ship-owning company's effective creation, ie. according to our current forecasts not before 2012.
